NASA's Space Launch System (SLS for short)!

After the end of the space shuttle, NASA no longer had its own capability to launch astronauts into space. Only SpaceX, as a private American company, managed to bring astronauts from American soil to the ISS with its Falcon 9.

But the SLS wants to go even further. It is an essential part of the Artemis program, which should soon bring humans back to the moon.

The visual resemblance to the space shuttle is no coincidence. The solid rocket boosters and the orange fuel tank are original parts from the Space Shuttle era. Even the four engines of the main stage are originals, some of which have already flown with the space shuttles. Sort of like a modern recycling rocket.


The lighting is realized by a discreetly flickering LED tea light, hidden in the cloud. It is operated by a standard button cell. The first button cell is already installed.
